Women in STEM Celebration

Raising awareness of gender diversity in STEM. Movie Screening. Food and Drinks. Annual celebration. All in one place. Join us on October 10 at Constable Ezio park and 99ten for an unforgettable evening!

On October 10, the high level bridge will be lit in purple to recognize women’s contributions to STEM fields throughout the history.

WiSER is screening Ms. Scientist, a documentary produced by Edmonton filmmaker Brandy Yanchyk. This 45-minute documentary features women scientists across Canada and explores the gender issues they face in their careers.

Guests will meet in front of the monument in the Constable Ezio Faraone Park (intersection of 99 Ave and 109 ST, outside of Grandin LRT station) and take a walk with our WiSER executives on the high level bridge. We will explore the history of WinSTEM week on this 20-minutes tour. Then we will arrive at 9910 (9910 109 ST) for food and film screening. Following the film, there will be a Q+A session with filmmaker Brandy Yanchyk and guests scientists featured in the film.

Note: This event is 18+. Light appetizers will be provided throughout. Alcoholic-drinks are available for purchase.
