July 2013: FAMILY BBQ 


Come out for WISER’s annual BBQ this July! Learn tips for work-life balance and participate in fun team-building games! Burgers and drinks will be provided; please bring a snack to share. Feel free to bring a frisbee or other games. We encourage diversity at all our events; both men and women are welcome. Additionally, this is a family event, so feel free to bring your significant other and/or kid(s). Come and celebrate the summer with us!

March 2013: Industry Mixer 

UA-WiSE / WISER Industry Mixer

Are you looking to Network with people in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics?


WISEST (Women in Scholarship, Engineering, Science and Technology) is pleased to invite you to our Annual Industry Mixer. On March 14th, the undergraduate student (UA-WiSE) and early career professional community (WISER) will be brought together with representatives from industry, government, academia and supporting organizations. This year we are excited to feature as our guest speaker, Dr. Marie D’Iorio – The Executive Director of the National Institute for Nanotechnology (NINT), who will share inspiration stories about her career path.

When: March 14th, 5:30-9:00pm

Where: University of Alberta Engineering Teaching and Learning Complex (ETLC) Solarium

FREE Food and Refreshments also provided!

The evening will include:
• Career fair with representatives from several leading companies hiring from STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) fields.
• Opportunities for undergraduates, graduate students, and early professionals to network with industry
